If you have freshly harvested beans as part of your meal you know it's summer, this underrated summer time favourite is tender and full of flavour. We grow yellow, green and purple beans, you might find them on their own or as a mix of all three colours.
Store unwashed in the fridge for up to a week, wash before cooking.
Before cooking remove the ends with a sharp knife or by snapping them off, this is a great job to get the kids to help with. If you have purple bean have your kids watch them cook as they change from purple to green, little science in the kitchen. Beans are great blanched, or sauteed in butter/ghee with salt and pepper, in casseroles, or salads.
