THE MEMBER/FARMER AGREEMENT

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) also referred to as the Harvest Box is a relationship between farmers and eaters. It's a step beyond just buying vegetables. When you sign up for the Cardinal Creek Farm Harvest Box Membership Program, you're paying in advance for your share of the farm's harvest. You're also taking on part of the risk of planting, growing, and tending to crops. Farming is unpredictable. We can't guarantee there won't be variations in the quality and quantity of the produce we're able to harvest, depending on circumstances that are beyond our control.

Cardinal Creek’s Harvest Box Membership Program is a Farmer’s choice harvest box, meaning your farmer chooses what will be in your box each week and isn’t not customizable. We hope to add this feature in the future but for this year we need to keep things as simple as possible. That being said if you have allergies or are morally apposed to a certain veggie please let us know and we will do our best to replace that item with something to your liking.

In return for your support, we're excited to grow the very best vegetables we can for you. We will often share recipes and best storage practices as well as keeping a recipe section on our website. We consider the Harvest box to be much more than a way to sell vegetables. Harvest box members are an extended part of the farmily (Farm+Family). 2023 is Cardinal Creek’s 2nd CSA/Harvest box season, so this is a way for us, as your personal family farmer, to create a relationship with you and visa versa. We hope to meet you, get to know you, and have you out to the farm for events. You're the fuel that keeps this farm running.

What do you get?

  • The season is 18 weeks of fresh, naturally-grown produce, starting in June and ending in October. Our target start week in 2023 is the week of June 1st, but it depends on the weather.
    · The share price is $30 per week, which equals $600 for the season.

We plant over 30 types of vegetables each year for Harvest Box members. Each week's Harvest box will typically contain 6-10 items, in the spring your box might have 6-7 items (approx. $25 in value), and in the summer 8-10 items ($35-40), thus making up for the deficit in the spring.

When you join our Harvest Box Membership Program, you're agreeing to these terms:

  • to pay for your share and submit your payments on time. You can pay the full amount up front -- which helps the farm – and receive our thanks – or -- pay a non-refundable deposit at sign-up and then two subsequent payments of $175 on May 15th and June 1st. The payment options are credit card, interact, or email transfer paid via our online store. If a payment is missed, we will notify you to discuss, and not deliver any boxes until the payment issue is resolved.
  • You're responsible for picking up your share every week, or designating someone else to pick up your share for you. (In that case, please make sure they know the pickup location hours, and to notify the farmer so we know the alternate pick up person has your permission to pick your box.
  • Vacation: If you're going out of town or will be otherwise unable to pick up your share, please notify us no later than the Sunday before the pick-up, we offer 1 week vacation during the program, which we will move your share to the end of the season. Beyond that one week, we suggest you have a friend pick up your share to enjoy that week or notify us that you would like to donate it. We work with a food bank weekly so we are happy to do that for you.
  • If you miss a pick-up (without scheduling a vacation hold beforehand), then the box is forfeited and the pick-up host will donate or share your box.)
    · If you’re going to be late for your scheduled pick up you agree to notify us with enough time to either rearrange or wait for you to arrive.
  • A $250 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of joining the Harvest Box Program which will secure your place in the program and will go towards the total amount owing for the contract.
    · You, the member, acknowledge that you are aware of the subsequent installments of $175 are due May 15th and June 1st
  • Becoming a member, you assume the risk should your farmer be unable to provide a portion of the member’s subscription due to any inherent risk of farming.
    · Your Farmer’s highest priority is ensuring that, the member, is satised and fullled and we will work with you collaboratively in these events.
  • 2023’s is a Farmer’s Choice Harvest Box and therefore the Harvest box is not customizable. But if there are any veggies that you are allergic to morally apposed to you can add that info at the time of sign up and/or notify us by the Sunday before pickup via email cardinalcreekfarmandmarket@gmail.com. We hope to have a customizable program in the future and we are thankful for those of you joining the program while we work out those details.
